Letters to Arjun Mahendran to be sent to Singapore

A request to extradite former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran to Sri Lanka has been handed over to the Singapore government.

The Attorney General's Coordinator, State Counsel Nisara Jayaratne stated that the request for extradition has been made by the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore.

The Foreign Ministry had forwarded this request to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore.

Locally made gun recovered by Navy

The Navy recovered a locally made gun, during a search conducted at  Palichchaweli area in Jaffna, on 16th February 2020. While conducting a search in the general area of Palichchaweli, Aiyanath Kovilladi in Jaffna, the Navy has recovered this locally made small size gun which was hidden near a bush. Further investigation on the recovered gun, is conducted by the Navy.
